Our message is simple: leadership is love. And it is through that message we empower voices, young and young at heart, to build a world of ‘we’ through service and Community-based action. As you know, the NorthFork Center for Servant Leadership (NorthFork) shines its light on all things related to the serving nature of leadership. This will never change. That’s because it is our belief the serving nature of leadership is at the heart of humanity. That said, we are moving forward with a major emphasis that best reflects the crux of our calling: empowering voices around the globe. We are excited about the prospects of this new turn on our journey. So much so, we call it … Drum roll, please!

Collective Voices will use leverage and synergy to bring disparate ‘voices’ from around the world together in a harmonious opus that recognizes the only way a better world awaits our children and our children’s children is if ‘we’ work on it together now. This latest shift brings NorthFork full circle to what seems to be its rightful place as the world’s connector: collecting and disseminating information, knowledge, and wisdom relative to the serving nature of leadership (the heart of social change) so communities around the world may more effectively embrace and engage those around them to create the world we all seek, a peaceful world where everyone is entitled to hope, joy, and possibility. |
Paul Hawken, in Blessed Unrest, writes,
“Some believe that to address meaningfully existing political and economic institutions, the movement [a collection of movements in this case] must centralize to present a viable alternative in scale. Many others would argue traditional, hierarchical forms of organization that require homogeneous agendas and goals are outmoded throughout the modern world, and that this movement [of movements] is a harbinger of change. The answer may lie in the middle.”
NorthFork’s Collective Voices is that middle! We will not oversee the movement of movements, only give it the platform it needs to leverage its collective work while creating synergies with others who, together, move our world forward to a place of hope, joy, and possibility. That’s right! Our three major outcome focus areas are Hope, Joy, and Possibility. Everything we (collectively) do shall lead to one or more of these outcomes.
Are YOU in? I hope so. Do join us, and bring a friend!
